How a khutbah is structured

  1. Khutbat al-hājah: praise (hamd), the declaration of faith, and salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ.
  2. Urging taqwa before the theme is introduced.
  3. The theme with evidence from the Quran and authentic Sunnah.
  4. A short sitting pause, followed by the second khutbah.
  5. Concluding du'ā for the congregation and the entire ummah.
