How a khutbah is structured

  1. Khutbat al-hajah - praise (hamd), the testimony of faith and salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ.
  2. The call to taqwa before the theme is introduced.
  3. The theme with evidence from the Quran and authentic Sunnah.
  4. A short seated pause, followed by the second khutbah.
  5. The closing du'a for the congregation and the whole ummah.
